A very common dog breed in Australia due to its high levels of playfulness, courage and affection towards children. They are also affectionately called ‘Staffy’.

They were originally bred for fighting. However, anyone who owns a Staffy would know very well of their strong affection towards humans making them more of a lover than a fighter.

• A fun loving personality. They absolutely love to play with their human family and human interaction is a must for them.
• They are generally very keen to please their owners.

• Pretty good around strangers so taking Staffy’s out in public is generally stress free and easy
• Amazing with children. This is one of the main reasons they’re so popular with families. In the UK, they are known as the ‘Nanny Dog’.
• Easy to care for as they have low grooming requirements and do  not shed a lot of hair.

If you’re considering a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, consider your ability to give them the playfulness they require. This breed is very loyal and makes for a great family dog, particularly for those with children.

Not suitable as an outside dog or for families that spend a lot of time outside the home without their dog.
